Publix Charities supports United Against Poverty

Publix Regional Director David Tapia, District Manager Trisha Miller, Store Managers Carrie Huck and Matt Scarborough, and Administrative Assistant Janice Gonzalez recently visited United Against Poverty in Orlando, Florida, to present Publix Charities’ $90,000 donation. Keith Theriot and Anjali Vaya from United Against Poverty were on hand to accept the donation.
This donation will help the organization replace two awnings damaged during the 2024 hurricanes and subsequent flooding, as well as aid the purchase of a refrigerated truck to help combat food insecurity in Orlando-area communities.
Publix Charities is proud to support United Against Poverty’s mission to serve families and individuals by providing crisis care, case management, transformative education, food and household subsidies, employment training and placement, personal empowerment training, and active referrals to other collaborative social service providers.
