Publix Charities supports Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee

Group volunteers holding a cahrity Check at Second Harvest Food bank

Publix CEO Kevin Murphy, Vice President of Human Resources Marcy Benton, Senior Associate Relations Specialist Ken Barnett and several local retail managers and associates were recently at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee in Nashville to volunteer at a Publix Serves event and to present Publix Charities’ $306,000 donation. Second Harvest’s Director of Community Engagement, Courtney Blaise, was on hand to welcome them.

This donation will support the purchase of food for Second Harvest’s Mobile Market program for children and families and fund a new Day Cab truck for their Food Rescue program. These programs play a pivotal role in improving access to essential food resources, particularly for individuals and families residing in food deserts or facing transportation challenges.

Publix Charities is proud to support Second Harvest’s mission to nourish and empower people so they can thrive.
