Publix Charities supports Children’s Home Society of Florida

Group holding a charity check outside the Children’s Home Society

Publix Charities Executive Director John Doran recently visited Children’s Home Society of Florida’s Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) in Bartow, Florida, to present Publix Charities’ $55,000 donation. Children’s Home Society Vice President of Governmental Relations Summer Pfeiffer and staff members Alicia Weaver, Kaitlyn Hawkins, Sarah Rockwell, Deborah Kinney, Bobbie Colvin, Thia Lomax, Laura Lako, Aviza Moore, Angela Forsman, Tracy Magee, and Rebecca Knowles were on hand to accept the check.

Children’s Home Society of Florida’s CAC serves Polk and Hardee Counties as a vital component in the community’s response to child abuse. The CAC coordinates the investigation, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse cases by utilizing a multidisciplinary team of professionals involved in child protective and victim advocacy services, law enforcement and prosecution, and physical and mental health. This donation will help the organization to create a second forensic medical exam room in their existing space to increase their ability to serve children and families in the community.

Publix Charities is proud to support Children’s Home Society’s mission to build bridges to success for children.
