Publix Charities supports Friends of Joshua House

John Doran presenting a charity check to the Friends of Joshua House

Publix Charities Executive Director John Doran recently visited Joshua House in Lutz, Florida, to present Publix Charities’ $80,000 donation. Friends of Joshua House Foundation Executive Director DeDe Grundel was on hand to accept the check.

This donation was part of a special grant process to assist select nonprofit organizations with one-time needs. It will help the organization replace three emergency generators and repair concrete pads that were originally damaged in 2023 during Hurricane Ian and further damaged in 2024 during Hurricane Milton. These generators provide critical well water and power to the entire campus, including the kitchen that supplies food to five foster homes for children between 6 and 17 years old. Friends of Joshua House has operated therapeutic homes for over 30 years, providing life skills and independent living training, academic support, virtual and home schooling, and on-site therapies for children.

Publix Charities is proud to support Friends of Joshua House’s mission to improve the quality of life for abused, abandoned, and neglected children and teens from our community by promoting healing, growth, and empowerment.
